Lauren Vieaux, MA, LPCC and Sarah Borger, MA, LPCC
Participants will learn relevant background, risk- and protective-factors, and current considerations in working with LGBTQIA+ client populations related to individual, relational (couples), and family mental health concerns and interventions. Participants will evaluate their own personal identities and bias related to the LGBTQIA+ community and examine implications for their clinical work.
Lauren Vieaux, MA, LPCC
Lauren Vieaux (she/her), MA, LPCC is a LGBTQ+ identified clinician whose professional experience includes providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Lauren specializes in LGBTQ+ identity development, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and body image concerns. Lauren has worked in clinical, educational, and community-based settings at outpatient, intensive outpatient, and day treatment levels of care. Lauren has previously used her clinical expertise to train and present information on LGBTQ+ competent care, eating disorders, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and intersections of the LGBTQ+ community and weight stigma. Lauren is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), receiving a Master's Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human Development, and Women & Gender Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Sarah Borger, MA, LPCC
Sarah Borger (she/her), MA, LPCC is a queer-identified therapist whose professional background includes providing therapy, support groups, and advocacy for adolescents and adults from all walks of life, specializing in trauma, sexual abuse/assault, relationship violence, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ identity development, self-esteem, and life transitions. Sarah has worked in clinical, educational, and community-based settings. In addition to providing direct services, Sarah has a strong track record in program development, facilitating trainings, and supervising staff, interns, and volunteers. Sarah has created and presented trainings on a multitude of topics including trauma, trauma-informed care, vicarious trauma, implicit bias, self-care, and sexual/relationship violence. Sarah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), receiving a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from Augsburg College.
