Ellie Express is an 8-week therapy program perfect for those who are experiencing a life change that has caused a little derailment. Perhaps you are a young adult ready to take on the world but are stressed out about so-called “adulting”, or you are on track to retire but are unsure of how to navigate that change. In either case, the destination has been set, but you are experiencing a roadblock. Ellie Express can equip you with the tools and skills you need to get back on track.
Comprehensive evaluation and testing offered by a Licensed Psychologist specializing in children’s mental health, including the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD/ADD, OCD and other mood and behavioral disorders.
The work unfolds between the therapist and the child to help address the child’s individual needs and heal from the inside out through their therapeutic relationship. This often includes lots of play therapy (direct and non-direct)!
This includes everyone! Sometimes we meet with the child and often times without. The whole family (siblings, grandparents, or whomever we determine together can help the process) will meet with the therapist and learn skills and tools to help the whole family system.
This type of therapy includes the child, the therapist, and other members of the child’s support system. Often the therapeutic process can be optimized when we include members of the family or other key members of the support system to help the child process family issues and to help the work continue with a supportive person at home.
At Ellie, our Complex Family Systems (CFS) therapists are experienced and acquainted with the various issues involved in working with high conflict families. CFS therapists have specialized training in order to see Reunification and/or Co-Parenting clients. Our CFS therapists have access to specialized consultations, continuing education courses, and are informed on the latest research regarding Family Court and the treatment of Reunification and/or Co-Parenting Therapy. At Ellie, parents in the CFS program should strive for a relationship in which their joint child or children are free to build a healthy relationship with both parents without threat of interference or negative influence.
Co-Parenting Therapy is designed to help parents put aside their anger and hurt with each other and move in a forward direction. Rather than being controlled by what has happened in the past, co-parents are able to find a balance in their lives while remaining the best parents that they can be with a common goal of tending to the wellbeing of their children. Co-Parenting Therapy assists in reducing conflict, improving communication, and implementing helpful parenting strategies.
Reunification Therapy works to repair relationships between parents and children in order to bring balance back to the family system. Reunification Therapy is often court ordered. We involve both parents and require that they work together to provide a unified message to their child(ren). Reunification Therapy is designed to assist in healing and repairing relationships and increase trust between parent and child(ren) and support healthy communication between co-parents.
