Emily believes in meeting you where you are at in your journey through life. She primarily utilizes a strengths and values based approach to incorporate your unique strengths, passions, and values to help you achieve your goals. You can expect sessions to be client-centered, creative, and fun. Emily primarily uses a Cognitive/Dialectical Behavioral approach to build skills that target cognitive distortions and build coping and distress tolerance skills to assist in removing the barriers that are keeping you from achieving your goals. Emily also utilizes aspects of Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic, Polyvagal, existential, and Trauma-informed care modalities. Emily is passionate about working with individuals with experiences with trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, and other behavior related concerns. Emily works with individuals of all ages and stages of life.
In her free time, Emily enjoys hiking, kayaking, art, music, gaming, crochet, and experiencing the diversity of the Twin Cities. Emily is currently enrolled in the Counseling and Psychological Services Master's program at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and is expected to graduate in early 2022. Emily will be seeking LPCC licensure.
