Lori A Ekholm


Lori believes that therapy is a collaborative experience between client and therapist and emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship. Her kind, compassionate, and genuine approach creates a warm  and supportive environment where clients can tell their story, identify their strengths and develop new  insights. She utilizes a person- centered approach and believes that the client is the expert of their own experience. 

Lori integrates a variety of treatment modalities, tailored to the specific needs of the client and draws mainly from person-centered, solution-focused and DBT therapies to help clients develop new insights, skills and solutions. Lori draws mainly from humanistic, psychodynamic, solution- focused and DBT therapies  to help clients develop new insights, skills and solutions. Lori is also trained in EMDR , which is an evidence based therapy useful for working through past trauma, anxiety and self esteem/shame issues.  

Lori works with couples and individuals ages 12 and up.

Outside of work Lori enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her pets (a dog and a cat) She enjoys gardening, hiking, doing crossword puzzles and listening to classic rock.
