Marissa Smith, MA, LAMFT

Therapist

Marissa’s ideal client is someone who shows up as themselves and is open to having light-hearted moments as well as more vulnerable and deep moments. This ideal client, especially those that are adolescents and teens (9 and up), will also have family members that are willing to be involved in sessions to build up the client’s support system. This will help translate work and changes that are done in office into other settings, like at home.

Clients can expect a collaborative experience which will include humor and authenticity to build your therapeutic relationship. They can expect that Marissa will come to session willing to hold space for whatever they are needing in that moment. Her main goal in therapy is to create a safe, supportive environment in which her client and their family can use to heal and grow.

Marissa has experience providing therapy to clients ages 9 and up. She also has experience working with blended families.

Marissa likes to use a variety of therapeutic techniques depending on what works best with the client she is working with. However, she prefers using a strengths-based approach and integrating experiential activities into sessions (especially when working with adolescents and teens).
