Melissa is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has experience providing mental health services for children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings, including: in-home, inpatient, partial-hospitalization, outpatient and in-school.
Melissa enjoys working collaboratively with other treatment team members to solve problems associated with mental health symptoms. She believes in giving children, adolescents and families the opportunity to explore their individual thoughts and emotions in a supportive and safe environment. Melissa comes from a strengths-based perspective and uses compassion, creativity and humor in her work. Her therapeutic approach integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques, psychoeducation, psychodynamic and solution focused strategies. She enjoys practicing Acceptance and Commitment therapy and mindfulness.
Melissa commonly works with adolescents, adults and families who are experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma-related issues, transitions and life changes, gender and sexuality identity issues, grief and loss, communication difficulties, relationship concerns and more. Melissa also has a passion for working with perinatal clients.
When not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, playing with her dog, cheering on the Minnesota Wild, traveling and listening to music.
